{"id":100,"date":"2007-12-26T12:46:40","date_gmt":"2007-12-26T12:46:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/janandira.com\/wordpress\/2007\/12\/26\/pea-and-ham-soup\/"},"modified":"2007-12-26T12:46:40","modified_gmt":"2007-12-26T12:46:40","slug":"pea-and-ham-soup","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.janandira.com\/wordpress\/?p=100","title":{"rendered":"Jan&#8217;s Pea and Ham Soup"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Ingredients:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1 small leek<\/li>\n<li>A few small carrots<\/li>\n<li>About 300g chunky bacon offcuts<\/li>\n<li>200g yellow split peas<\/li>\n<li>salt and pepper<\/li>\n<li>2 bay leaves<\/li>\n<li>1 clove garlic<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Rinse peas and boil on their own &#8230; and then remove scum from top of the water<\/p>\n<p>Chop leek and carrots ( but not the ham) and throw everything in together with a few cups of water and simmer for an hour to an hour and a half.<\/p>\n<p>Remove the bacon chunks from the cooking mixture.<\/p>\n<p>Blend remaining mixture in a blender.<\/p>\n<p>Chop the bacon chunks up separately and add to the blended mix.
