We spent Christmas with Rob and his family up in Derby.  Funnily enough the recipe Ira used came from &#8216;The Complete Asian Cookbook&#8217; under the Sri Lanka section!<\/p>\n<p>Making the cake was quite an undertaking, and it contained 25 different ingredients including 12 egg yolks!  Ira took his job very seriously and spent a lot of time and effort on the cake and even iced it with marzipan and sugar icing. <\/p>\n<p>I might have stolen a spring of holy from my neighbours garden to finish it off properly!<\/p>\n<p>The finished cake easily weighed 5 kg &#8211; (possibly closer to 10!) and was a huge hit with Rob&#8217;s family.  His Grandma even asked for the recipe!
