It was my first trip, and I was pretty impressed &#8230; Hobart is in a perfect position, with amazing coastline, mountains and a nice city center with the port right there in town. <\/p>\n<p>On Saturday we went to Frecinet Peninsula, and did a walk to Wineglass Bay and Hazards Beach.  It was pretty much picture perfect postcard stuff &#8230; but a bit busy with people until we&#8217;d gone past famous Wineglass Bay on to the rest of the walk (which was just as nice). <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" style=\"display:block; margin-left:auto; margin-right:auto;\" src=\"http:\/\/www.janandira.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/img-5120.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_5120.JPG\" border=\"0\" width=\"450\" height=\"300\" \/><\/p>\n<p>One of the many Bennett&#8217;s Wallabies who inhabit the Frecinet National Park<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" style=\"display:block; margin-left:auto; margin-right:auto;\" src=\"http:\/\/www.janandira.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/img-5130.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_5130.JPG\" border=\"0\" width=\"450\" height=\"300\" \/><\/p>\n<p>New Holland Honeyeaters were quite abundant<\/p>\n<p>We saw some cool birds too &#8230; Jan spotted a pink robin, and we saw quite a few cuckoos, and fairy wrens.  <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" style=\"display:block; margin-left:auto; margin-right:auto;\" src=\"http:\/\/www.janandira.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/imgp3080.jpg\" alt=\"IMGP3080.JPG\" border=\"0\" width=\"300\" height=\"400\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Sadly these amazing plants are being decimated by root rot<\/p>\n<p>Then the next day we went for a quick trip up Mt Wellington, which overlooks Hobart.
